Teacher's Corner

Support and enthusiasm from teachers is what makes BATTERYCYCLE work!  Lesson plans tailored to Grades 4 – 8 and for both the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board are available below as tools to help contextualize the program with relevant, curriculum-based classroom materials.   BATTERYCYCLE is a great way to introduce students to a little-known environmental issue while providing them with the means to take action immediately.

LESSON PLAN 1 - How Batteries Work (Grades 4-7)
Students will learn about the ways potential energy can be stored for use in daily life, through the example of batteries. Lesson focuses on material with curriculum relevance for the science strand.
